It is a native control point for audiophile UPnP and OpenHome systems, on iPhone, iPad and Mac: it finds your server by itself, browses hundreds of thousands of tracks instantly, then steps out of the audio path · the bits travel from server to renderer, never through the phone, with nothing done to the audio on the way. Open Serento and it listens on your Wi-Fi for music servers, then lists each one by name. MinimServer, Asset, Plex or a NAS all appear the same way, with no IP address, port number or login to type. Several servers can be active at once and merge into one library.
Albums, Artists, Tracks, Playlists, Genres and Folders. Folders mirrors the exact folder tree on your server, so a library you filed carefully browses the way you arranged it. Stack sort rules, and filter by label, codec, bit depth, rating or tag.
The gold Play button starts your selection. The small arrow beside it holds Play Next, Add to Queue, Shuffle and Play Favorites, which plays only the tracks you have hearted. The compact Play plays exactly what is on screen, after your filters and your sort.
Tags are your own labels on albums, tracks, artists and stations, and they nest like folders to any depth. Bookmarks save a whole filtered, sorted view for one-tap return from anywhere. Playlists and favourites follow you to every device.

A station list picked one at a time, by hand, against a single rule: the stream has to be genuinely lossless FLAC. Nothing compressed dressed up as HD. Add your own by pasting a stream address, or import a whole M3U file at once.
Download a track, an album, a playlist or a weekly mix to the device, with a real queue you can pause, retry and cap with a storage limit. Away from home, your phone can even become the source for a network speaker.
Queue, current track, exact position, shuffle, repeat and radio state follow you between iPhone, iPad and Mac over Wi-Fi. Favourites, playlists, tags, ratings and bookmarks sync through your own private iCloud. There is no Serento cloud library, and only pseudonymous technical telemetry ever leaves the app.
Every track carries a badge with its tier and exact rate: HI·RES 24/192, DSD 128, CD 16/44.1, MP3 320. When audio reaches the output completely untouched the badge earns a slow gold glow and spells out BIT-PERFECT, and only while music is actually playing.
Identify Album searches every known release and fixes a messy rip in a couple of taps. Enrich fills only the blanks. Reviews, artist biographies and per-track credits layer on top, plus karaoke-style synced lyrics. Your files are never rewritten.
Browse by Composer, Work, Conductor, Orchestra, Soloist, Period and Form. Scattered movement-tracks are regrouped into the whole work they belong to. The section stays completely hidden unless your library contains classical music.
No streaming service keeps score for a library you own, so Serento does, privately: total listening time, top tracks and artists, an hour-of-day heatmap, records and streaks. Rate albums one to five stars, then filter the library by them.
